When my boyfriend and I started renting our first house together we didn’t think the Internet was such a huge priority. Six months down the line as I started Techalite Web Consulting, this became a big problem. I started having to tether my iPhone to my computer and go to internet cafes at night just to get any work done!
We originally tried to get naked DSL with TPG, but found out that to be able to do this we needed to get Telstra to activate a phone line for us, which we’d have to pay for separately, and then have that phone line for at least a month before we could get the internet. On top of that, if we cancel the Telstra phone line within the first three months we’d need to pay a fee on top of that.
So I did some digging (aka saw an ad on the back of a Transperth bus) – and found Vividwireless, which provides 4G wireless broadband. We spent the night digging around for info and reviews of the company and, yesterday, registered for the 12 month $75/month unlimited plan (choosing to go with the Home Gateway as opposed to the portable USB system).
The modem was delivered this morning and now – voila! Houston, we have Internet. I am downloading so much stuff tonight – first point of call, GUILD WARS!!
