A couple of weeks ago I had a business-y shoot for Techalite with the wonderful Michelle Joyce of Morpheus Photo Art and Claire Luu, who did the excellent makeup. We decided to shoot at my home, where I actually run my web consulting business from. My living room has a lot of windows and Michelle loves natural light, so that’s where we spent several hours that day. Michelle’s husband Warren also came to assist (and was nice enough to take a look at my Canon 1000D and advise me as to why exactly I couldn’t seem to take a sharp photo 99% of the time, no matter how still the subject was. Of course it couldn’t have been anything I’m doing because I’m just so great 
).
Claire got here at about 9am (and thankfully brought a makeup chair of her own because I don’t have one and was trying to make a makeshift high chair out of my boyfriend’s office chair and a couch pillow :S) and we had a chat about what kind of look we’d go for for the shoot. Claire suggested going for fairly neutral colors and an overall natural look, which is exactly what I was hoping for! The makeup looked great, I only wish I could replicate the look myself but alas, I’m just not that good 
.
Michelle and Warren got there at about 9:45-10ish from memory just as Claire was finishing up. We had a bit of a chat about the overall feel of the shoot, what accessories we’d be using, etc, and Claire and Michelle thankfully helped me pick out the first outfit to wear because while I had put out several choices, I just couldn’t seem to settle on one.
Anyway, the shoot was really fun! Michelle paid so much attention to the lighting, tweaking things here and there, I was really impressed by how much she actually noticed that I probably never would until I saw the photos. While I got to sit there and pretend to work on my MacBook (in other words check my emails and Twitter), they were tweaking a light here and another there and I had no idea what half of the gadgets even were except that they looked really cool .
I got the photos back a few days ago and am so pleased with both the shots and the makeup! I can’t thank Michelle and Claire enough for coming out and doing the shoot.
