That's the thing, the iPhone, with such a huge issue, is no longer a "quality product". The antenna issue does not impact me directly, sure, and for me the product still does everything I need - but others may not be willing to put up with something like this and shouldn't have to. We've come to expect quality from Apple and this just doesn't fit the bill. I fully expected Apple to keep paving the way with the evolution of smartphones - but this mistake automatically makes me think of Apple as falling a notch (or three) from its pedestal. Their handling of the incident made it so much worse as well. People are complaining because Apple didn't deliver the quality we've all come to expect from Apple and its devices.

They obviously didn't spend enough time in development in my eyes - if they had, they would not have allowed a device with such a blatantly obvious and hindering issue out on the market. No, we won't be fully satisfied - we shouldn't have to put use a cover or learn to hold them a certain way to be able to make a call on a phone.

I'd be buying a case for my phone anyway, which is why I won't have to face this issue directly. But what about people who choose not to use cases? Are we going to start selling devices in bits and pieces? "Oh, well here's the phone...but it's broken and you have to have THIS to make it work."

House, you misunderstand. I'm not drawn to the iphone because I don't think I can understand anything else. I'm drawn to the iPhone because it suits my needs perfectly. I love the product a lot, I just hate the company. Technically, even with this antenna issue (which I still think needs to be dealt with properly and should never have happened in the first place), the iPhone STILL does everything I need and want it to do. Herein lies the problem - for me, it's the perfect phone. I've used my boyfriend's HTC Desire running Android and Android is nice. I have no doubt that if I never knew iOS or had an iPhone I'd go for an Android phone. But, for me, once you go iPhone you never go back.

ha ha.. aww. I can see exactly where you're coming from Liza!

But I can also see how Steve got frustrated with everyone, here is Apple--delivering yet another( for the most part) quality product that will define how smart phones are to evolve in the coming future... and of course, people are complaining.

If it were my baby, after spending a lot of time w. development to make sure people are satisfied, to eventually hear people complain.. i would probably think to myself," wow. you people will never be fully satisfied will ya!--y' kno what tha problem is?? Not me, it's You--the customer! You're ALL holding it wrong! "

Yea.. I can see my self saying that, but I'd then rethink it over and let out my frustrations through food and working out.

Steve really shouldn't have ever let his emotions dictate his actions, he said a statement in the heat of the moment which led to a bogus accusations of customers...that turned into the point of no return. Poor Steve.

So why not simply STOP being dependent on your iPhone? There are other options, some of them aren't bad. It's not like you're a dumb bunny who can't handle technology, have a look around at the Android options and see if there's anything you could be happy with there.

There's a way out, you don't HAVE to feel like a hypocrite :)
